"You're going to think this is daft, but I just can't..."

I have heard clients say this so many times over the years. Remember that there will always be a reason that you have developed a phobia, no matter how foolish or silly it may appear to you. The hardest part of eliminating a phobia is usually picking up the phone and confessing to a stranger that you have what may seem to you to be a totally irrational and uncomfortable fear. The starting point of our work together is that we both accept your presenting symptoms, howver baffling they may seem to you. Once we have done that, we can work together to eliminate them.

Achluophobia: Fear of the dark.
Acousticophobia: Fear of noise.
Acrophobia: Fear of heights.
Aeroacrophobia: Fear of high open places.
